The High Achievers Awards were established by the Royal Irish Academy of Music in 2000 with the intention of showcasing young talent and celebrating the value of live performance in the community. The Academy awards students who achieve outstanding results in their examinations and holds a series of concerts around the country every autumn where the winners are given the opportunity to perform.
Twelve students from St Angela’s Academy of Music were recipients of High Achievers Awards in 2014-2015 and several of them performed at the High Achievers concert held in the Lime Tree Theatre in Limerick on Sunday 15th November 2015. They were subsequently featured in the Tipperary Star on Thursday 19th November. A massive congratulations to all those who participated in the concert and who received a High Achievers Award in the past school year.
This week over fifty students at St Angela’s Academy will partake in music examinations for the Pre-Christmas 2015 exam session. There will be three days of exams with the Royal Irish Academy of Music and one day of exams with the Leinster School of Music. The very best of luck to all involved!
St Angela’s Academy of Music has been a centre of music education in Thurles for decades, and up to now the school has generally relied on reputation and word of mouth to entice students through its doors. However, we have recognised the importance of establishing an online presence in these very modern times and so our website has been born!
At http://www.stangelasacademyofmusic.com, you will find all the information you need regarding the school’s facilities and tuition, along with an updated calendar of events taking place throughout the year.
