School closed for Easter holidays

Please note that St Angela’s Academy of Music is closed for lessons from tomorrow for the duration of the Easter holidays and will reopen on Monday 4th April. We wish all students, parents and staff a very happy St Patrick’s Day and an enjoyable Easter break!

Huge congratulations to Chamber Choir

St Angela’s Academy of Music would like to extend our warmest congratulations to the Ursuline Secondary School’s Chamber Choir, who won the top prize in their competition at the Feis Ceoil Music Festival in Dublin on Tuesday 8th March.

The Chamber Choir competed for the Alice Oakley Quirk Cup which was open to post-primary mixed voice choirs under 19 years of age. Seven choirs participated in the category and performed in the RDS Concert Hall for adjudicator Catherine Ennis.

The Ursuline’s Chamber Choir chose to present a contrasting repertoire of Ave Maria (Joshua Himes) and Incantations (Michael McGlynn) and were awarded first place following their excellent performance. Many congratulations to the students and teachers involved for this outstanding success!

Pre-Easter exam time

Today marks the beginning of the pre-Easter examination session at St Angela’s Academy.

This evening, our Associated Board theory students will sit a two-hour written exam, while earlier in the day students studying with the Leinster School of Music will take their practical music exams.

Next week there will be a full five-day schedule of practical exams for students studying with the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

We wish all our students the very best of luck!
