Junior Choir: exciting new initiative at St Angela’s

Arising from an interest in voice training from primary school parents, it has been decided to start a Junior Choir at St Angela’s Academy of Music.  It is designed for young students (boys and girls) who are interested in singing and will be open to students from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Class.

  • The Junior Choir will aim to encourage and develop young voices in a fun and enjoyable environment and will be a good preparation for individual voice training at secondary school level.
  • It will provide young singers with an opportunity to learn vocal technique, develop their ear and cultivate their sight-reading skills.
  • It will cover a wide variety of songs that are within a range suitable for young voices.
  • Students will do songs in unison and harmony.

Ms Marina Buckley, a teacher of voice and harp here at the Academy, will be responsible for this class. She has vast experience in vocal training and brings great enthusiasm to her classes.

For this venture to be viable a minimum of 20 students is required. The class will take place on a Monday evening from 3:30pm to 4:15pm and the fee for this class is €90 per annum. If you wish your child to take part, please complete the application form in the Enrolment section under the Tuition menu on this website. Forms should be handed into the music school office by July 15th in order to secure a place.

We are delighted to be able to offer this new class and expect it to be a popular choice for the coming 2016/2017 school year!
