As we wind down the term for the Christmas break, we are already thinking ahead to 2018! Please note that, due to scheduled in-service days, the Ursuline Secondary School will be closed on the first two Mondays back in January, Monday 8th January and Monday 15th January. However, St Angela’s Academy of Music will be open on both days for music lessons. So every student must confirm with their teacher that they will be in attendance or else make suitable alternative arrangements.
We wish all students, parents and staff a very happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year!
The Royal Irish Academy of Music held its annual Gala High Achievers Concert last Wednesday 7th December and we are delighted to say that the Ursuline Secondary School’s Chamber Choir was one of the performers on the day. In the academic year 2015-2016, over 40,000 musicians took part in the RIAM Local Centre examinations. 300 were deemed High Achievers and a selection of these performed in regional concerts around the 32 counties in October and November of this year. Only 10 were chosen to participate in last Wednesday’s Gala Concert at the Royal Irish Academy in Dublin, therefore it was a fantastic achievement on the part of the Chamber Choir to have been selected for performance. Very well done!
We would also like to say congratulations to all students involved in the recent music examinations here at St Angela’s in November. The standard was very high, with many distinctions, and we hope you were pleased with your results.
Finally, we extend warmest wishes to all students, parents and staff as we wind down for the Christmas break. The school will reopen on Monday 9th January 2017. We bid everyone a peaceful Christmas and all the very best for the New Year!
As we come to the end of the school term, St Angela’s would like to congratulate all the students who participated in the recent examination session this November – their hard work was reflected in the success of their results which arrived to the school in the past week.
Now we are winding down for the Christmas break. With the holiday season upon us, our students have been getting festive in their lessons and the sounds of Christmas songs can be heard floating through the corridors! Please note that lessons and classes will resume on Thursday January 7th 2016.
St Angela’s Academy of Music wishes students, parents and staff a happy Christmas and all the very best for the New Year!
