Theory examinations and Easter holidays

A number of our students will be taking their music theory examination today.  The theory classes that we run at St Angela’s are in conjunction with the ABRSM (Associated Board) and cover topics such as rhythm, pitch, scale writing, comprehension and composition. This examination had to be rescheduled due to the recent snow. We wish the participating students the very best of luck!

Please note that St Angela’s closes tomorrow, Friday 23rd March, for the Easter holidays and will reopen on Monday 9th April. All students, particularly those sitting exams in the post-Easter examination session, must make good use of the coming two weeks for practice.

Finally, a quick reminder about our upcoming musical evenings:

Tuesday 17th April, 7pm – Primary & External Musical Evening, Scoil Angela
Wednesday 25th April, 7:30pm – Secondary School Musical Evening, Ursuline Gym Hall

We encourage all to attend!

Upcoming exams and musical evenings

We are heading into a very busy period of the school year! Next week marks the beginning of our pre-Easter examination session. Exams with the Royal Irish Academy of Music will run from Monday 12th March to Friday 16th March, while exams with the Leinster School of Music will be happening on Friday 23rd March.

Coming soon after that will be two highlights of the music calendar: our annual musical evenings. The Primary School & External Musical Evening will take place on Tuesday 17th April at the Scoil Angela Primary School and the Secondary School Musical Evening will be the following Wednesday 25th April at the Ursuline Secondary School. We encourage your attendance on both of these special nights!

Update on school closure

Please note that St Angela’s Academy of Music will remain closed for the rest of this week due to the bad weather. We advise all students to avail of this extra time for practice and once again urge everyone to stay safe.
